INSTALLATION OF VICTRON SOLAR PANNELS ON A CATAMARAN

Installation of Victron solar panels on a Lagoon 42 catamaran in the port of Santa Lucia

Energy autonomy is a major issue for navigators wishing to enjoy their cruises without dependent on external power. Recently, we installed solar panels of the Victron brand on a catamaran Lagoon 42 moored to Saint-Raphael. This intervention allows to optimize the energy production on board and to guarantee greater autonomy for the owner of the vessel.

Why install Victron solar panels on a catamaran?

Solar panels are an ideal solution to improve the energy autonomy of a boat. The Victron brand is recognized for the reliability and efficiency of its marine solar systems. This installation increases the possibilities of navigation programs and improves the comfort on board.

The stages of installation at the port of Santa Lucia

Energy diagnostic and choice of equipment.

First we perform an energy diagnosis of the boat in order to assess the electricity needs and determine the solar power required. We select solar panels Victron adapted to catamaran energy consumption.

Installation on Portico stainless steel and integration with the existing system.

The solar panels are mounted on a robust stainless steel portico, designed and built to measure. Thus, exposure to the sun is optimal while preserving the aesthetics of the boat. The electrical installation is integrated into the existing one, with a Victron charge controller ensuring efficient management of the energy produced.

Testing and validation.

Once the installation is complete, we carry out a series of tests to ensure that the solar panels function properly. The whole system is calibrated to maximize catamaran autonomy.
