Review of a Dessalator desalinizer on a Beneteau First Yacht 53 sailboat at the Monaco Marine shipyard

The maintenance of a desalinizer is essential to ensure a freshwater autonomy and the proper functioning of the system on board. Recently, we took over the revision of a Dessalator brand desalinizer on a Bénéteau First Yacht 53 sailboat, at the Monaco Marine Shipyard Cogolin, Var. This intervention, carried out by our specialist in Yacht Maintenance, has kept the device running smoothly, in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. A look at this achievement and the benefits of regular maintenance.

Why do you want to review a Dessalator desalinizer?

The desalinizer is a key element of on-board autonomy, converting seawater into fresh water. Lack of maintenance can result in breakdowns, reduced yield or altered water quality. The regular revision of this nautical equipment ensures its proper functioning and extends its life.

The stages of the revision at the shipyard in Monaco Marine

Diagnostic and system inspection.

We started with a full inspection of the desalinizer Dessalator, checking the maintenance logbook, wear of filters, membranes and electrical connections.

Cleaning and replacement of components.

Filters have been replaced and membranes cleaned to restore optimal performance. Visual inspection of hydraulic circuits was carried out to detect possible leaks.

Testing and calibration.

Once the interview is completed, our Agent Dessalator carried out a series of tests in real-life conditions to ensure good water flow and filter quality.
